About Le Haute Ville
Situated within the walls of Old Quebec, Le Haute Ville is a terrace property offering very comfortable and modern self catering apartments to those looking for an independent city break
Both studio and one bedroom apartments are available. While they may be located in a charming historic property, the décor and furniture is thoroughly modern. All the amenities you need for a great city break are featured, included kitchen or kitchenette and television.
The focus at Le Haute Ville is in the apartments themselves, and there are few public amenities. There is, however, a laundry in the basement of the building that guests can use.
Those not preparing their own meals have only to step outside the door to be confronted with a wide choice of excellent places to dine. Out of province guests should be sure to try out the very highly rated French-Canadian cuisine.
The Citadel is just 600 yards from Le Haute Ville.
Positive Reviews
positive:
Great check in/out experience
Considering the fact that there are no permanent staff at the property guests had perhaps been expecting some trouble with check in and check out. In the end, they needn't have worried, since guest after guest reported that the procedure was a breeze. It seems the agents either meet guests at the property or provide codes to access it, resulting in an efficient and painless process.
positive:
Perfect location in Old Quebec
Of course, leisure travellers to Quebec City do not typically travel to the city to stay at an anonymous hotel i far outside the city, so guests were very happy to find themselves right in the very heart of Old Quebec, close to all the street life, nightlife and attractions they cared to visit.
positive:
Kitchens are very well equipped
The funny thing was that even guests who admitted that they didn't really use the kitchen to prepare full meals still stated that they were very well equipped had they had the inclination to do so.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Left to their own devices
Once checked in, guests tended to be left to their own devices. Some were quite happy with this, but others found the lack of onsite staff unnerving and would have liked a person there they could go to when they had a query or concern.
negative:
Steps and more steps
The property is a small historic one, so of course does not have a lift. Guests, especially those on the top floor, did seem to get a little tired of the many daily trips up and down the steep stairs.
negative:
Very small TV
An astonishing number of guests complained that the TV in their apartment had a screen that was simply too small, perhaps leading some to watch movies on their smartphone instead.
