About Riad Dar Mchicha by phoenix
Riad Dar M'Chicha is a haven of tranquillity in the heart of Marrakech's colourful medina. What makes this peacefulness so surprising though is that the bustling souks are just metres away.
This intimate hotel has just four bedrooms, yet still offers quality Moroccan hospitality. Each has its own private bathroom and free Wi-Fi.
The overall feeling of calm is amplified by the soothing trickling of water from the patio's fountain and the tweeting and fluttering of birds around. A relaxing mint-tea on the beautiful roof-top terrace completes the feel-good factor.
To complement the varied Moroccan breakfast, guests can relish the subtle flavours of local cuisine with dishes available on request.
Riad Dar M'Chicha is just 140 metres from the Jeld Souk and a 15 minute walk to the Jamaa El Fna square. The hosts can arrange transport to the airport, 11 kilometres away, or organise excursions.

Service makes your stay
Many guests vow to return to the Riad Dar M'Chicha simply because of the exceptional service. The hospitality of the hosts not only helps make your stay more enjoyable, for many it is the best part of their overall Marrakech experience. They do everything they can for you, including preparing breakfast at all hours, airport pick ups, washing clothes and even finding lost guests in the medina!
positive:
Cosy and quiet riad
Guests love the ambiance and can sense the feel-good factor on arrival. The riad may not be the height of luxury, but feels homely, calm and romantic. This is quite a mystery to some as it is right in the heart of the medina with the souks and the Jamaa El Fna just minutes away.
positive:
Varied breakfast
Guests are very pleasantly surprised to have such a good and varied breakfast every morning. You will no doubt start the day intrigued and in anticipation of what will be served up.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Tricky to find
Brave guests who choose to not take advantage of the airport pick-up often find locating the riad a bit complicated. For most, however, this is completely normal and part of the adventure! The host will no doubt come and find you if you're lost in any case!
negative:
No windows in the room
Some guests are a bit amazed to find that their rooms have no outwardly facing windows. This realisation is, however, just small surprise and nothing out of the ordinary for a riad.
negative:
Basic room
The rooms are basic and there are no en-suite bathrooms, yet this doesn't seem to detract from guests' overall experiences. The bathrooms are still pretty much private from other rooms and the rooms are comfortable, especially considering the exceptional value for money they offer.
