The property is ideal for families looking for a relaxing holiday as well as surfing enthusiasts looking to catch that perfect wave. The resort offers one and two bedroom apartments and cabins, many with private patios. Each apartment has a full kitchen with fridge, private bathrooms, TV and other modern amenities that vary according to the type of apartment chosen. Wollongong Surf Leisure Resort has a 25 metre heated indoor pool, two heated spa pools and a steam room, two basketball half courts, a tennis court, mini golf complex, table tennis, playground and various activities for kids and adults as well. Breakfast is available and there is a convenience store on site. Guests can get their own meals in their rooms. Fairy Meadow Beach Park, Stuart Park, Wollongong Science Centre and Planetarium and Wollongong North Beach are nearby.

Guests found that the cabin walls are rather thin and that sound tends to carry very easily. The no-noise -after-ten house rule is not always effective. The music from the pub across the way is also loud and carries on late into the night.
