The Shores Hotel, Central Blackpool Hotel is a three-star family-run establishment with 17 rooms located in Lancashire, Blackpool, England. It is two miles away from the Blackpool North Railway Station. Rooms are very quirkily done up and provided with flat-screen televisions, DVD players, tea/coffee making facilities, hair dryers and hair straighteners. En suite bathrooms have free soaps, shower gels and towels. Upgraded rooms have Egyptian cotton linens and iPod docks. Guests can choose to book the family rooms or the bunk beds for single travellers. Wi-Fi and parking are free. Family bar has a 50-inch TV, good stock of DVD, music and books library along with Xbox 360 and PS3 for kids. Billiards/pool table and luggage storage facility is provided. Karaoke nights keep the guests entertained. Full English breakfast is served that includes cereals, toast, crumpets, yoghurts and fruits. The Shores Hotel, Central Blackpool Hotel is close to Central Pier and ten minutes’ walk from Pleasure Beach.
Guests were pleasantly surprised to find a good WI-Fi connection that enabled them to work online if required. Full English hot breakfast included porridge, cereals, yoghurt, toast, cereal bars and plenty of tea/coffee.
Most of the guests loved the spotlessly clean rooms with well stocked basic amenities. They even had hair straighteners kept for use, which not many hotels do. Hotel staff was very friendly and more than happy to lend a helping hand to the guests.
Family bar had a good collection of DVDs and books for the adults. Kids were kept occupied for a long time by Xbox 360 and PS3 games. Guests could take the DVDs to their rooms. A pool table and games machine was good enough to entertain the kids for quite some time, say guests.
Few of the guests were a wee bit disappointed on not having an elevator to come down from the top floor. It was an inconvenience especially for the aged guests. Hard beds and pillows were found to be uncomfortable by some of the guests.
Some of the guests felt that even though there was a lot of free roadside parking, they got full very early leaving no parking space for them. There was some construction work going on across the hotel which created a lot of noise and looked dirty.
Bathrooms were small as per some guests. There were few issues like the shower coming off the hold and broken toilet paper holder dangling with a cello tape, which made it look shabby.
