Positive Reviews
positive:
Convenient for Penn State
This hotel is a popular choice for weekend football fans and parents visiting their children as college, as Penn State is located so close. The ease of access to local parking for the college, as well as the free shuttle, makes it easy to get around to busy events.
positive:
More than a simple hotel stay
Since the hotel hosts so many conferences for business professionals during the week, the amenities are much better and nicer than other hotels in the area. Each room is spacious with a wet bar and mini-kitchenettes. There is a sports bar and gift shop. Overall, this hotel gives a lot for the affordable price paid.
positive:
Attention to the finer details
This hotel runs efficiently with a quick check-in process. There is a breakfast buffet and Sunday brunches catered for guest pleasure. Plus, the shuttle service and fully-equipped technology rooms makes this a great choice for the busy professional.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Rooms are worn
The hotel is well-used, both during the week and on busy college weekends. This use takes a toll on the rooms and common areas. The decor and features are dated and the fixtures and accommodations of each room are not noted for being opulent or luxurious, just functional.
negative:
Service sufferes with success
When the weekend crowd hits the streets, this hotel shows signs of strain. Service at the bar and restaurant is very slow during these times. Cleaning and reception service also struggle to keep up with crowd control.
negative:
The wheels on the bus
The shuttle bus service, or a car, is a necessity at this location. There are no other restaurants or bars within walking distance, nor can guests get to shops on foot. The campus also isn't walk-able and guests will have to use wheels to get anywhere.
