The Fritz Hotel (Miami Beach, USA)

Staff, in particular at reception, are helpful and friendly and willing to give information to help guests enjoy their stay. The location is much appreciated, being right by the beach and within an easy walk of shops, restaurants and Miami's attractions.

Guests found the rooms to be beautiful and modern. Tinted windows afford privacy, allowing those inside to look out but prevent anyone from looking in. There were no hidden or unexpected charges.

The rooftop pool was found to be clean and inviting and its views over the Ocean were much liked by guests, it is high above the noise and bustle of Ocean Drive. At the same time guests enjoyed being able to cross the road and find themselves directly on the beach. The hotel was felt to represent good value for money in this iconic Art Deco district.

Some visitors remarked that there were no drinks or snacks of any sort to be had in the hotel. Perhaps the management are missing an opportunity for profit here.

Guests were concerned that it was not possible to lock the balcony doors securely, they were just propped in place. There were occasions when the rooms had not been cleaned or maintained to the standard expected, some broken light fittings and a squeaky bed were of concern.

The Fritz is slightly damned with faint praise, and and in some parts would seem to be in need of updating and freshening up. The location, whilst very much in the swim of things, is perhaps rather too lively for some at night, and several guests recommend asking for rooms at the quieter rear of the building.
