Located right in the middle of the Danube river, the Sorat Insel-Hotel Regensburg offers a marvellous view of the medieval city of Regensburg and its cathedral. The building, which once housed a large silversmith manufactory, is situated on a small Danube island. Modern architectural ideas helped to preserve the character of the old manufactory, classified as a historical monument, when reconstructing and transforming it into a hotel. From the hotel bar, one enjoys the view of the Regensburg landmark, the famous medieval bridge "Steinerne Brücke" through a panoramic window ten meters high. The river that used to power the factory's sledge hammers still flows underneath the hotel. The Sorat Insel-Hotel Regensburg has 75 rooms and suites.
