A great location for tourists...
Many guests appreciate the hotel's central location, noting there are many shops and restaurants just across the park, and there is a supermarket nearby for those who like to cook. The central station is also a five-minute walk. The Cathedral is a 10-minute walk, and travellers say there are least eight champagne houses within a healthy walk or a short drive.
positive:
Leaves room in the budget for champagne...
Guests often comment that the Residhome Reims Centre asks a reasonable price for the very clean, comfortable studio apartments with a small but functional kitchenette. Drivers like that the on site parking is secure and competitively priced, too.
positive:
Pleasant and professional staff....
The front desk are widely described as very friendly and helpful. English speaking travellers who only know "bonjour" and "merci" are relieved to find that most of the team is pleased to communicate in English as well, and to help with arrangements for champagne tours or other activities.
Negative Reviews
negative:
A hot night in Reims...
Guests who arrive in a July or August heatwave are generally dismayed to discover the building is not air-conditioned, and some have suffered a miserable night before requesting a fan from reception.
negative:
Too close to the tracks...
The building backs onto the train station, within view of the shunting shed. Though the trains do not run overnight, light sleepers on this side of the building report early wake-up calls in the form of public announcements and train-related noise as early as 5am, especially if the windows are open for air.
negative:
Keep it clean...
Guests note that there is no housekeeping for guests who stay fewer than five nights, unless you purchase additional services, though items such as fresh towels are provided at the front desk if you ask.
