Positive Reviews
positive:
Ideal location for sightseeing.
Guests can reach most of the major tourist attractions in Reykjavik, including the Old Harbour, Parliament Building, National Museum, Harpa, and Baejarins Beztu Pylsur, the hot dog stand made famous by Bill Clinton, in just a few minutes on foot. There are also many restaurants, bars, and shops on the doorstep.
positive:
Friendly, enthusiastic staff.
Most guests give the front desk staff rave reviews for their personable and professional customer service, commenting often on their smiling faces and enthusiastic approach to providing directions, recommending restaurants, and accommodating special requests or resolving issues. Most speak fluent English.
positive:
Great bed and breakfast...
Most guests enjoy a great night's sleep in the comfortable, modern rooms. Guests who pay a little more to stay in a suite, or in one of the Business Class rooms, generally agree that they provide particularly good value, as these rooms include their own Nespresso machines as well as the Super Breakfast Buffet, which is not inexpensive purchased separately. The buffet offers a wide variety of hot and cold options, including fresh waffles and Scandinavian specialties.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Long summer nights...
The Radisson Blu 1919 is centrally located in Reykjavik, close to many bars which remain open for the long daylight hours in the summer and it is not uncommon for the party to go on literally "all night long". While for some guests the proximity to this lively scene is a plus, as many found it difficult to get a good night's rest.
negative:
Heads up...
Some rooms on the upper floors have slanted windows and ceilings, which have posed a problem for taller guests.
negative:
Rooms too cosy for some...
Several guests were disappointed in the size of the rooms or suites, which are decorated in a "minimalist" style that struck some guests as 'sparse' or 'cold'.
