Positive Reviews
positive:
Wonderful small touches
Quite a few guests mentioned that it was the small things that most impressed them about the hotel. Things like free newspapers in their rooms, snacks and ironing gave them the impression that the hotel was really taking care of them, rather than just trying to “make a sale”.
positive:
Great location for tourists
Guests describe the location as perfect for tourists. It is close to areas of interest and street life, like Taksim Square. But perhaps more importantly, it is described as being close to the metro, which could whisk them to many of Istanbul's grand sights in no time at all.
positive:
Very professional and helpful staff
While staff are often praised in guest reviews, the staff at Point Hotel Taksim come in for a bit more than average. They are described as highly professional, and always willing to help guests with any issues or questions they might have.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Not enough lift capacity
Quite a few guests specifically mention that they waited a very long time for a lift to arrive to spirit them up or down. They concluded, correctly or otherwise, that there wasn't enough lift capacity for the number of guests staying in the hotel.
negative:
Breakfast room can get crowded
While not a very common complaint, a number of guests did mention that breakfast could become a bit of a scrum. It seems the breakfast room might be a bit too small for the number of guests.
negative:
Some rooms may be a bit small
While also not a very common complaint, it seems a few gusts really do perceive their rooms as being too small for their needs. As sometimes is the case, it may be that a couple of rooms are smaller than standard, but sold in the same class.
