The base of the complex features a three level shopping centre, and also provides ample parking for guests, while reception is on hand to assist 24 hours a day.
There is a café in the hotel, and many dining options in the centre right below.
Nova Highlands is in the very heart of the Cameron Highlands, with many of its attractions nearby. The famous Tea House is five miles to the north.
Positive Reviews
positive:
Great views from most rooms
If guests could look past the construction works in the immediate area, they described beautiful views of the highlands. These are really what brought them to the area, so they were very happy to have a commanding view of them right from their hotel room.
positive:
Ample parking available
Whatever other issues guests may have had with the apartment, lack of parking certainly wasn't one of them. Guests mention that the hotel is built on top of a huge base that has both a shopping centre and a very large parking complex.
positive:
Rooms are extra spacious
It was perhaps the spaciousness of its rooms that guests most appreciated about the hotel. They were described as much bigger than standard hotel rooms, and certainly bigger than they were expecting.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Lots of nearby construction
As late as April 2016, guests were still reporting that there was significant construction taking place in the area around the hotel. Naturally this didn't make the best first impression, and guests also complained about noise from the construction works disturbing them in the morning.
negative:
Questions about staff attitude
While the staff at the resort did also receive compliments, there were perhaps too many complaints to ignore. Quite a number of guests mention that they experienced indifference, and sometimes even rudeness, from staff and speculated that it might be due to apparent staff shortages.
negative:
Cleanliness an issue
The majority of guests did not think highly of the cleaning team at Nova Highlands Resort. Many report that their rooms were really not cleaned to a reasonable standard on check-in, and they had to ask for them to be cleaned again, or do some spot cleaning themselves, before they felt comfortable.
