Great Location in Monterey
Guests thought the hotel's location to be convenient to many of the area's attractions. For instance, it is within close driving distance to the beach and aquarium as well as city's downtown area. For guests who were here to visit, it was helpful not to worry about the long distance between the places.

Negative Reviews
negative:
Below Average Renovations
Although the inn advertises itself as having newly renovated rooms, some thought the renovations were not new at all and already had some wear. Also, the small details made a bad first impression as some guests noticed the material used for floors and linens to be of low quality.
negative:
Thin Walls did not Block Noises
Some guests had a hard time getting a good night's rest given the noises coming from other areas in the inn were not reduced by the thin walls. Some had noise coming from barking dogs, others had noise coming from guests never sleeping but going back and forth. Not being able to sleep is a big disappointment for anyone.
negative:
Strange In-Room Smells
Some guests had a difficult time coming to terms with the strange smells emanating from their rooms. For instance, although it is a non-smoking inn some guests found their rooms to smell of clear cigarette smoke. Others had cooking odors or sewer smells which was not welcoming.
