Positive Reviews
positive:
A great neighbourhood...
Most guests rave about the hotel's location in the bohemian Schwabing district, which is packed with bars, restaurants, and cafes. The stunning English Gardens are within a short stroll, and some healthy travellers also enjoy the walk into the city centre (30-40 minutes) though many also note that the hotel is very well connected to Marienplatz (and indeed all of Munich) by bus, tram, and u-Bahn.
positive:
Ask for a garden view...
Though the street-facing rooms are generally described as well-insulated from traffic noise, rooms at the back of the hotel overlook the nicely landscaped courtyard, offering a particularly tranquil feeling for a metropolitan hotel that many guests really enjoy. View aside, all of the rooms seem to be well equipped with the 'basics'.
positive:
Off to a good start...
Many guests report that they are welcomed by very friendly, kind, and helpful staff. Those who plump for the breakfast, which is widely considered a little pricey, generally find the buffet well stocked with a variety of fresh, tasty optons.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Small spaces...
Though some guests find the rooms spacious "by European standards", others find them cramped, particularly in the bathroom. Drivers who use the hotel's garage also describe the spaces as "incredibly" narrow.
negative:
Inconsistent housekeeping...
Though most guests arrive to find their rooms reasonably clean, those who stay longer than a night or two are sometimes unimpressed by the overall level of housekeeping services.
negative:
Not much for dinner or tv...
Though the surrounding neighbourhood has many restaurants, some guests feel the lack of an on-site option at dinner time. Some international travellers are aggrieved to find few English channels on tv, too.
