Situated in an enviable position, right on the water, La Posada Hotel & Beach Club is a boutique property offering eco-conscious accommodation and an amazing pool deck. The rooms are modern, elegant and very well appointed, with most having great sea views. Each features luxury linens, air conditioning, minibar, flat screen TV with cable channels, in-room safe, work desk, telephone and free Wi-Fi. The central feature at La Posada is undoubtedly its massive pool deck, with its sun beds and great views across the water. The Essence Cortez Spa offers an extensive array of treatments and facilities, while there is also a gym for those keeping in shape on vacation. A comprehensive Mexican breakfast buffet is available every morning, while Buffalo BBQ Restaurant is an elegant venue which serves the other two meals. There are a number of water based activities available in the area, including trips to the renowned Espiritu Santo Island.
It was pretty hard to find a bad word written about the food that came out of La Posada's kitchen. Guests of all nationalities seemed to have enjoyed the traditional Mexican breakfast, while the other meals were also praised for being both tasty and well presented.
While not mentioned by many guests, those who did absolutely loved watching the sunsets from either their room or the deck. The hotel faces west over the bay.
Again and again guests would mention just how fantastic the staff at La Posada were. They were described as offering a warm welcome and seemed to be genuinely friendly and helpful whenever guests would need to raise an issue or ask a question.
A few guests mentioned that most of the staff have limited or non-existent English language skills. Those who did not speak much Spanish seemed to have a bit of trouble communicating and deciphering the restaurant menus.
Quite a number of guests reported being disturbed by revelers on the beach outside at all hours of the night. The rooms do not seem able to block that kind of noise out, so it did cause disrupted sleep for some.
A couple of guests mentioned that the hotel, while in a good position on the shore, was some distance from downtown La Paz. Walking there would certainly not be easy, so those who did not have their own car would need to take cabs there and back.
