Positive Reviews
positive:
Modern facilities with period charm.
When it came to designing each of the guestrooms, the owners had guest amenities in mind. Each room features modern facilities while not detracting from the hotel’s original charm. Of particular note are the en suite facilities, which are on par with just about any other hotel.
positive:
Welcoming and comfortable rooms.
Room sizes are often complimented by guests of Jolly’s Hotel as many people find the rooms to be fairly spacious. In addition to their size, the well appointed decor and clean furnishings make it easy to enjoy this accommodation.
positive:
Great vacation spot for golfers.
Set in the heart of Broughty Ferry, this hotel is in a good spot for people looking for a quiet vacation; especially if they enjoy golf. With great proximity to St. Andrews and Dundee, Jolly’s Hotel is in a great area to take advantage of some of Scotland’s most popular courses.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Most guests have to look elsewhere for parking.
While there are a few parking spots at the hotel itself, most of those are quickly taken by guests or visitors to the restaurant and bar. Most of the people that stay of Jolly’s Hotel will have to rely on public parking for their vehicle.
negative:
Hotel bar is a popular spot.
Guests of the hotel who may want to unwind from the day with a quiet drink will have trouble doing so at this hotel. Since the onsite bar is a popular spot with both residents and locals, it is often very noisy and crowded; especially on the weekends.
negative:
Staff shortages impact service.
One of the compliments this hotel gets is the staff members that are pleasant and accommodating. Unfortunately there are not more of them and a shortage of employees creates issues with long wait times which spoil otherwise great service.
