A sprawling Summer Palace built in the early 19th Century by Maharaja Tahkhat Singh of Jodhpur nestled between the Aravali Hills surrounded by lakes is an Oasis in the Desert. 70% of the Hotel income is given to Charity for providing Drinking Water to the poor desert communities and 100% of the water used in the Hotel is by collecting rainwater during the monsoons to preserve the water resources for drinking water needs of severely water distressed local communities. Nestled between the lush greenery and red stone of the Aravali hills minutes from the historic city of Jodhpur is the Water Habitat Retreat Hotel. The Hotel located on the grounds of the Former Bijolai Palace once served as the summer home of the royal Maharaja Takhat Singh (1819-1873). For those interested in supporting eco friendly environments, the hotel offers facilities that for years have derived its water resources from century old traditional water harvesting structures.
