Hotel Relais Valkarana – relais di campagna stands on the shores of a lake, Lago del Liscia, a short distance from the famous Costa Smeralda / Porto Cervo and its beautiful beaches. This country hotel includes several buildings: an old ‘stazzo’, a typical rural one-storey building of the early 1900s’ carefully restored and used today to exhibit local produce and products; the restaurant with its panoramic views and huge rooms elegantly furnished with traditional fabrics and furnishings; the rooms set amid original Mediterranean shrubs tastefully decorated using traditional materials such as wood, brick, granite, wrought iron and Sardinian ceramics. Living Sardinia to the fullest means discovering its fragrances and flavours: the Valkarana Restaurant offers its visitors the most popular dishes of the island's gastronomy such as the ‘Porcetto al mirto’ (roasted pork with myrtle), the ‘Zuppa Gallurese’ (soup Gallura-style), fine cheeses and cold cuts, ‘Seadas’ (special fritters), black bass and lobster Catalan -style, accompanied by the best local wines such as Nebiolo di Luras, Vermentino di Gallura, il Moscato di Tempio, to name but a few.
