Positive Reviews
positive:
Convenient and easily accessible location
Being on the main southern driving artery in and out of the city means this hotel is a very easy place to reach and makes a great base to strike out from. Having a very wide array of dining, drinking, shopping (including the excellent Chinook Centre) and entertainment options within an easy stroll is very handy too.
positive:
Guest rooms are surprisingly spacious
Numerous visitors have been pleasantly surprised by the amount of ‘bang for your buck’ they got in terms of accommodation space. Needless to say, this isn’t something you here of all that often at this end of the hotel market...
positive:
Some accommodations have handy exterior entrances
The fact that the motel-style rooms here have both interior and exterior entrances means you can unpack your car directly into your accommodation (assuming of course you get allocated a ground-floor room). Very handy.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Hotel feels very dated
From the old furnishings and jaded bathroom fittings in the guest accommodations to the worn, stained carpets in the hallways; there is no getting away from the fact this hotel looks and feels very tired.
negative:
Some rooms are beset by traffic noise
You may want to bring some ear plugs with you if you’re a light sleeper: the guest rooms located at the western end of the property, i.e. next to the main road, can be pretty noisy at night.
negative:
Hotel bombards you with smells
Right from the moment you enter the hotel your nose is bombarded with two distinct smells: cigarette smoke and chemical cleaning agents. It’s like a perpetual aroma war is being played out right before you and your sense of smell is the main theatre of conflict!
