Situated next to Bangkok's main railway station, known as Hua Lamphong, there are over-ground and underground trains right on the doorstep. These connect you with the rest of the city or to other parts of Thailand.
While the name is apt because of the railway station being opposite, it does mean that accommodations are subject to lots of noise. In addition to the trains, there is often heavy traffic on the road outside and the guesthouse's old air-conditioners are noisy. Ask for a room at the back for minimum disturbance.
Although you'd expect compact accommodation due to the cheap rates offered here, the eco and standard rooms are overly cramped. You'll have just enough room to squeeze past the bed, so for a more comfortable experience, pay extra for a deluxe room.
The deluxe rooms offer much more than the echo and standard rooms in terms of space and amenities, however, some of them do not have any windows. Request a deluxe room with a window to avoid disappointment, or book an eco or standard room which all have windows.
