No pre-packed food here. This is a place where home cooking is alive and thriving. Meals are substantial, well prepared and flavoured with the region's fresh produce. Great, great food!
There aren't too many frills here, but rooms are very clean. The region is staggeringly attractive with rolling countryside and fabulous beaches for the kids. Then, to round the day off, the food here is delicious; lots of it - even for kids! - and very reasonably priced. If looking for an affordable family break near the sea ... this is it!
It hits you when you walk through the door, but it does get better as you approach your room.
Rooms need hitting with a programme of intensive cleaning and updating. Curtains are filthy but, strangely, the rooms themselves are clean and beds are changed daily! Mattresses need replacing.
The approach to the rooms isn't very pleasant. The stairs are filthy - no excuse for that! The bathroom is no better and cluttered with shampoo and other stuff left by previous guests. Why?! Teas and coffees are of an inferior quality - but, maybe shouldn't complain about that, given the very cheap tariff!
