A few guests have recently remarked that a refurbishment might be in order, as the hotel decor needs freshening up. The decor is close to the original style of the building, but it would be great to restore the shiny, new look to the place, which has become a little tired looking.
As the village is remote, one of the problems here is that the mobile and TV signal is rather weak. The Wi-Fi here is quite good, though, so connectivity is maintained with the outside world despite the remoteness of the area.
Although the rooms are double-glazed, which helps in keeping out noise, some guests staying in the cottages were inconvenienced by rather thin walls and noise coming from children staying next door. They advise checking at booking time to know if children are staying nearby, particularly if peace and quiet is required.
