Positive Reviews
positive:
Ideal for parents visiting students
If you are visiting students at the university, then this is the ideal location for you. The hotel is just over a mile from the center of the University campus making it an ideal base for your trip. It’s also pretty close to quite a few other points of interest such as the Museum and State Capitol.
positive:
Plenty to do nearby
If you enjoy your food, then you will be spoiled for choice at this hotel where there are many restaurants and cafés within walking distance. There are also quite a few bars too, but even so, the hotel is still pretty quiet at night.
positive:
Beautiful architecture
This building is everything a history buff could hope for a hotel. The entire property is full of history, and it makes for an ideal base for a romantic weekend. A beautiful place to stay for a few nights in Tallahassee.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Valet parking so slow
Some guests have had issues with getting their cars as the valet parking attendants took an age to do their jobs. It’s not ideal when you’re waiting for your car for forty minutes. Not boutique hotel service at all.
negative:
Old and dated
Yes, this is a historic building, but guests have found mildew in their bathrooms and stains on the carpet. Keeping a place true to its past does not mean that you can stop cleaning it. It’s not filthy by any means but certainly not as clean as you’d expect it to be.
negative:
Expensive for what it is
This place is no more than an old hotel with nice décor, but the owners seem to think that they can charge whatever they like. Guests are not best pleased to pay such high rates for a hotel with no real stand out qualities.
