Hotel Selina Chicago (Chicago, USA)

If you came to see the sights and shop, you're in the perfect hotel. This venue has apparently undergone recent renovations and has a new chic charm to it. In the middle of the popular Magnificent Mile of Michigan Avenue, you'll be steps away from favorite shopping, dining and entertainment spots. Spotless, easy access to Rush Street, with a pleasant lobby and Mike Ditka's Restaurant on-site, you'll find all you need at your fingertips. Starbucks is also right across the street for a convenient pick-me-up anytime.

Quiet, impressively large rooms with great beds and high quality, modern amenities. Many of the larger units are more like apartments than hotel rooms. Temperature control is optimal and decor is tasteful. Bedside phone-charging stations are a welcome surprise, as are the outstanding number of television channels, stellar window views over the city, personalized features like welcome cards and stocked refrigerators, and free Wi-Fi. Upper floors are the quietest.

Someone has trained this staff well. Not only do they thoroughly do their jobs, but it appears they go out of their way to meet guests' needs without being asked first. Courteous, gracious and knowledgeable staff can be found throughout the venue from arrival to departure.

Some felt housekeeping should have replaced their glassware between days, and were frustrated with lack of bathroom counter space. Water temperature was difficult to adjust in some rooms.

The breakfast is simple here with mostly cold continental items, leaving some wishing for heartier, hot dishes. It also starts too late for some in town on business travel; they opted for Starbucks across the street.

There are only two elevators for sixteen floors; sometimes you'll have to wait a few minutes.
