Hotel Ryde Castle by Greene King Inns (Ryde, United Kingdom)

The hotel is conveniently located just minutes away from the harbour and the hovercraft terminals as well as local bus stops. Guests used the hotel as a base to explore the many tourist attractions on the Isle of Wight as well as the popular beaches many of which are within walking distance.

Guests were complementary about the quality of breakfasts describing the cooked dishes as very tasty and the portions as being of generous size. Many particularly enjoyed the scrambled eggs whilst those who chose the continental options said that the food was fresh and that there were plenty of items to choose from.

The rooms have been described as tastefully decorated and many complimented the level of housekeeping stating that their rooms were regularly cleaned. Guests said that the rooms looked freshly painted and the bathrooms were also said to be clean and modern with up-to-date fixtures and fittings.

Guests whose rooms were located at the back of the hotel were disappointed to find that their rooms were looking out onto the roof of the building as opposed to the picturesque coast. If you are keen on a room with a sea view it’s advisable to let the staff know prior to booking.

The lift only goes to the first floor of the building which inconvenienced those guests whose rooms were located on the upper levels and particularly those who had to carry heavy items of luggage up several flights of stairs.

Guests whose rooms were located above the bar and the patio complained about not being able to have a good night’s sleep due to the excessive noise coming from the bar area.
