Positive Reviews
positive:
Excellent location for attractions and nightlife
This was without doubt what most impressed guests about Plaza Nueva Hotel. Aside from causing some parking issues, the location was rated as impossible to beat, being right on a lively square and just a few minutes walk from Granada's star attraction, the Alhambra.
positive:
Old World charm
The hotel was said to have a certain Old World charm, and perhaps clues to a former incarnation as a very grand property. Guests liked this atmosphere, since it made them part of the historical city around them, even while affording them all the modern conveniences.
positive:
Good value for money
Pretty much every guest who brought up the question of value believed they received excellent value for money, essentially based on the fact that they had a decent room in an incredible position for what they considered a great room-rate.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Very limited on-site parking
As with many well preserved historical cities in Europe, there was very little parking available on-site. There was off-site parking not too far away, but of course that entailed dragging luggage through the ancient cobbled streets. Once there, though, guests didn't feel the need of a car for exploring Granada itself.
negative:
Room décor a bit dated
Guests seemed to get the sense of “faded grandeur”, especially with respect to the rooms. They admit that the décor and furnishings did look incredible at one time, but believed that time was very far back. In their opinion the rooms were in urgent need of a major revamp.
negative:
Very noisy at night
Unfortunately the prime central location did not come without a price, with guest describing a lot of street noise and revellers on the square disturbing their sleep.
