Positive Reviews
positive:
Centrally Located.
The Petit Palace Plaza in Malaga has great appeal because of its central location in the old city, adjacent to the cathedral. Guest who stayed here during carnival time in August enjoyed the many events that were going on, and found a wide choice of restaurants, bars and coffee houses within a short walk of the hotel.
positive:
Well Tended.
The hotel was found to be clean, and the Wi-Fi works well, and is included in the price. The beds are comfortable, and guests comment that the rooms are clean and well-serviced.
positive:
Helpful.
The staff are friendly and attentive, and guests received the impression that the hotel is managed with the aim of being as helpful as possible to visitors. As an example of the consideration towards guests: when one required a very early morning wake-up call the night receptionist rang once for a second or two five minutes before the time, then made the full call on time: the guest agreed that this was a gentle way to be woken so early.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Design Failings.
The bathroom was rather ill designed, a lack of shelves and hooks meant that guests had to leave things on the floor. There was a problem with the air conditioning, seemingly a result of electricity supply faults, the hotel did address the problem, but it made the stay uncomfortable in the summer heat of Southern Spain.
negative:
Basic.
Breakfast was rather basic and guests felt it was not good value. They found better and cheaper breakfasts in nearby cafés. The hotel's location in a pedestrian area makes arrival difficult for those with heavy luggage, similarly parking is a bit of a trial. Clear instructions for finding the car park should be provided.
negative:
Not Cheap.
Overall guests felt that the hotel does not represent very good value for money, in spite of its great location.
