Maison Esmeralda is situated at 600m altitude in the traditional mountain village of Biert, 5 minutes from Massat, and just 30 minutes from St Girons, capital of the Couserans. In 45 minutes you can reach the beautiful, historic town of Foix and its imposing medieval castle which dominates the town. Maison Esmeralda offers spacious rooms with beautiful views of the Massat valley. Standing on the bank of the river Arac, Esmeralda is an ideal location from which to explore the many activities and sights popular in the region. We are open all year round and offer a great breakfast, including homemade jams and muesli, and apple juice from our own trees. For our home-cooked evening meals, we strive to use local and seasonal produce - sample menus available on tariff page. Our Gite can accommodate up to six people and we have a large garage, beautiful gardens with river terrace, picnic and barbecue areas and a child-safe swimming pool and playground, all of which you are welcome to use. Cyclists and motorcycle riders will find us particularly accommodating with inside, secure cycle storage and clothes washing facilities. Free wi-fi is available to our guests.
