Positive Reviews
positive:
Great dining nearby
Guests loved being so close to so many restaurants. They felt that they had a great choice without even having to get in their car. Hooters and Cracker Barrel were often mentioned by name as being good and situated almost right out front.
positive:
Easy to get to downtown Knoxville
A great many guests were actually headed to Knoxville for their business or leisure activities, often attending games at the University of Tennessee. They reported that the hotel’s location, right by the interstate, made it incredibly easy to get to the downtown core. It was pretty much just a case of quickly getting on the highway and driving along it for a few minutes.
positive:
Great pet-friendly accommodation
Guests who brought their dogs with them felt they were treated very well. They seemed to be especially impressed with the quality of the pet-friendly rooms, saying they were every bit as nice as the regular rooms.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Ant infestation
An extraordinary number of guests mentioned that they had major problems with ants in their rooms. It seemed that no matter how clean they kept the kitchenette surfaces they would simply appear, as if from nowhere.
negative:
Breakfast ends far too early
Unlike many other MainStay properties, this one seems to get a lot of leisure travelers. They definitely did not appreciate the relatively early hours that the hotel stopped serving breakfast. It would usually not be a problem for those on business, but leisure travelers would have liked to be able to sleep in a little.
negative:
Musty feeling in the rooms
Guests mentioned that the rooms could be a bit musty. The general feeling seemed to be that the building was old and showing its age, with one of the side effects being a pervasive musty smell.
