Hotel Jetwing Yala (Tissamaharama, Sri Lanka)

Several guests were simply tickled pink by the fact that monkeys, and a lot of other wildlife, could be viewed right by the hotel's pool. They almost didn't need to go on a safari of Yala Park.

The hotel is a little remote, so some guests were a bit worried that if they didn't like the food, they would be left with very few options. Thankfully, they reported that the food was delicious, and there was a good variety available to suit many tastes.

Guests seemed to experience an atmosphere of tranquil serenity at the hotel, even if they didn't go anywhere near the spa. It seems the natural environment and the building's design really created a very special atmosphere.

The feedback regarding Jetwing Yala was overwhelmingly positive. Just about the only consistently mentioned negative point was that the access road to the property was very rough, with guest bouncing around in the transfer vehicle. It would seem that regular sedan cars might have some trouble negotiating the road.

While the majority of guests did have good experiences with the hotel's staff, there were perhaps too many complaints of rudeness or disinterest to completely ignore. It seems that there are one or two staff members who really let their team down.

A couple of guests pointed out that the complex is quite large, and that the rooms at the ends really are quite far from reception. Guests who dislike walking may need to request a closer room.
