The front-desk personnel promote the best possible impression to incoming guests; they're very friendly and efficient.

The neighbourhood is pleasant and quiet. The airport is only a drive away (and you can hear the planes on occasions).  It's approximately 30 minutes by road to the centre of Toronto. So, you've got a quiet location but with important services and attractions that are within easy reach.

On-site, there's shopping at Tim Horton's and at a convenience store. Add to these, the swimming pool and gymnasium - and you are looking at tip-top hotel facilities, but at a fraction of the cost.

Dormitory rooms can be cold at night and there's a significant absence of warm blankets. Freezing! Things, such as crockery and cutlery, are missing. Replacing these and other items adds to the cost of the stay and impinges on your time. The rooms themselves are on the dated and gloomy side. Lighting is very dim and does nothing to enhance any appeal that may be going.

The building is vast and it's a real hike to get to what is a very basic and small room. Need the bathroom? … then that's another laborious excursion.

Yes, the place is reasonably priced but you'll need the car or transport, to get anywhere. Consequently and taking into account fuel or transport costs, this expenditure makes the overall picture less appealing. It is very sensible to consider paying a little more, stay in a hotel - and actually save money!
