If you are trying to catch an early flight or laying-over for the night, Homewood Suites by Hilton Miami Airport-Blue Lagoon is a good choice. Located two miles from Miami International Airport you are as close as you can be and with free airport shuttle service, you can get to your flight on time with little hassle. In addition, the hotel is located seven miles from Miami Cruise Terminal so it's a convenient place to spend the night if you are boarding a ship the next morning. The property is within walking distance of great restaurants, shopping and entertainment venues and you're a short drive away from the city's most popular attractions.

You can't go wrong here because every suite has views of the tranquil Blue Lagoon that surrounds the property. If you want views of the city as well, ask for accommodations on a high floor.

A warm, helpful, multilingual staff welcomes you at check-in and is there for the duration of your stay. They are happy to accommodate most any request and they can point you in the direction of places to eat and the most popular local attractions.

It's unfortunate that Homewood Suites by Hilton Miami Airport-Blue Lagoon does not allow pets, especially for those who love to travel with their favorite four-legged friends.

There are smoking rooms here
This hotel offers both non-smoking and smoking rooms. This is quite evident, because when you step over the threshold of a room that has housed smokers in the past, the acrid, stale smell of second-hand smoke is hard to miss. If this is a problem for you, be sure to state your preference for a non-smoking room upon booking, and then again at check-in.

Housekeeping is hit or miss
Sometimes the housekeeping at this hotel is OK but sometimes it really misses the mark. Carpeting that needs better vacuuming, stained linens, trash left behind and hairs left in places they shouldn't be can detract from your stay.
