Rooms looking tired and dated.
Some of the guests were disappointed to find that the decor of their rooms was rather tired with dark painted walls and old fashioned furniture. The bathroom suites were described as equally dated and very basic. If you like ultra modern rooms it would be

Problems with stairs.
As the building dates back to the 18th century, there is no lift on the premises which did inconvenience some guests, particularly those traveling with children and carrying heavy luggage.

Guests who stayed at the hotel during the colder months said that their rooms felt uncomfortably cold as well as the bathrooms which were not heated. Mobile heaters are provided but many found them inadequate.
