Hotel Grand Solmar Land's End Resort & Spa (Cabo San Lucas, Mexico)

The area does have a very special appeal and something you're unlikely to find anywhere else. Even if you wander off the recognized tourist tracks, those less salubrious districts don't feel menacing and have their own special charm. The town is a 10 minute walk away, resulting in the resort being somewhat detached and thankfully quiet.

Rooms, service and staff are all excellent and create a background for a truly memorable holiday. Bar and restaurant prices are surprisingly reasonable and all rooms have sea views!

Pool service is excellent at all times and it's good that the hotel recognizes the fact that noisy kids charm only their own parents. The adult area of the pool is, indeed, an oasis!

The food is really outstanding but, despite the publicity, there is, in fact, only one full time restaurant. After a while, visits here become monotonous. It's a bit of a hike to some alternative restaurants-but one worth undertaking, if only occasionally.

If you haven't got a time share here and are just enjoying an ultra special holiday in someone else's condo, you'll be lucky to escape without investing. The salespeople are like locusts.

It seems strange that having emphasized the availability of a private beach, the hotel strongly recommends no sea bathing due to currents and constant high tides. In fact, the beach itself isn't easily accessed and most of the advertised outdoor activities are certainly not on the proverbial doorstep.
