Positive Reviews
positive:
Have a walk-about
If you find you want something to do other than the amenities at the resort, most attractions are within walking distance. A 10-minute walk will take you into the busy part of town with many restaurants, shops, and attractions. That area also has numerous nightlife pubs and clubs.
positive:
Great ambiance
The hotel staff works hard to welcome guests, greeting each new check-in with a cocktail. That ambiance continues as guests see where they get to stay. The hotel resembles a ski lodge and many guests get to stay in a log cabin cabana for a truly unique experience.
positive:
All you'll need for a busy time
The resort provides a host of amenities. There is mini golf on site, as well as tennis courts, a game room with pool table, and gaming machines. The restaurant onsite hosts a free continental breakfast and there is even food and drink service around the swimming pool.
Negative Reviews
negative:
A long walk-about
The hotel is situated quite far from the beach, definitely more than a leisurely stroll down tourist-friendly streets. The first walk to town is only 10 minutes, but this area is heavy with pubs and clubs. For those who want the tourist areas of shops and restaurants plus historic attractions, that walk is more of a serious 20-minute exercise. Taxis might be a better option, but can get expensive.
negative:
It's a basic stay
While breakfast is free, it mostly consists of toast and coffee. The hotel bars are not open every day and the bathrooms and bedrooms could use upgrading for a better stay.
negative:
Day trips only
The neighbourhood where the hotel is located is not the typical tourist area of town. There is a strip club just next door which gets quite busy at night. While the hotel is accessible to attractions by walking, you might want to do only day trips.
