Der Teufelhof Basel is a unique guesthouse and cultural centre. It consists of a hotel, theatre, Atelier Restaurant, Bel Etage restaurant, brewery, bar and coffee lounge as well as a wine cellar and lies in the heart of Basel's Old Town; in two knocked-together historical townhouses from the 18th century. As a popular meeting point, the hotel combines history and tradition with an artful, modern and thus urbane setting. The Kunsthotel has eight rooms and a suite, all of which have been conceived as habitable works of art. The Galeriehotel has 20 rooms and four junior suites and features temporary exhibitions organised by theme. The hotel offers all the comfort you need and is officially rated by the Swiss Hotel Association as a Design, Lifestyle, Business and Unique Hotel with excellent cuisine. We offer our guests free high-speed Wi-Fi, breakfast buffet, free coffee and water in the rooms as well as other conveniences. The Teufelhof Basel is a hotel with two different concepts. On the one hand the Gallery Hoel; on the other hand the Kunsthotel. The entire building complex of the Gallery Hotel also serves as a stage for art exhibitions. Different exhibitions are displayed on a continuous basis; each for one year. The Teufelhof develops the concept and design of the exhibitions itself. It is possible to present either comprehensive retrospectives or interesting contrasts owing to the extensive exhibition space, which covers three floors. The Teufelhof was practically the inventor of the art room, for it is the first art hotel of its kind. Essentially, it is about experiencing art in a new context. The idea is that the hotel rooms are realised as works of art and created as «three-dimensional art».
