Cleanliness is paramount and there are no major problems here. Prices are reasonable, particularly when taking into account the fact that a, not overwhelming, breakfast is included.

It’s off Route 66 and opposite the railway – which can be a bit noisy. Interesting eateries within walking distance, include, only about 300 yards away and on ‘this’ side of the road (so, no crossing needed)… Badlands. Not as cheap as others, but excellent quality and value.

Rooms seem clean and are pleasantly decorated.  Carpets are suffering from age but they are cleaned daily. Management and staff are ultra-friendly and polite.

Dried blood stains on the bed linen and at night, the bed bugs emerge in large numbers. Carpets are stained, the shower head leaks and the mattress is worn out after decades of frantic activity This isn’t a place to stay any longer than is necessary.

During the night, car alarms go off on a regular basis – an indication as to the break-ins that are occurring here. The sting in the tail, though, is those wretched trains. It’s not incessant noise but it is regular – so you tense yourself up in expectation of the next arrival. In fact, the train goes past relentlessly, every hour … *Look out, here it comes again!

There are several similarly named hotels in this immediate area. You may be better advised to opt for the one at Red Rock. It has a good reputation. Failing that, fill up at one of the gas stations … and keep driving!
