Positive Reviews
positive:
Amazing location.
Guests were able to overlook other shortcomings with this hotel based on the location. Guests were able to walk to the Duomo, Scala, and most of the major tourist attractions. A big positive was the convenience store across the street, and not to mention the proximity to metro stops and the bus terminal.
positive:
Pleasant stay.
Some guests said that Bolzano ticked off all the boxes for a comfortable stay. A warm shower, comfortable bed, and Wi-Fi that works well are sometimes all you need to be satisfied. However, guests cautioned that some rooms are better than others, with a few rooms lacking natural light, so you may want to inquire in further detail when reserving a room.
positive:
Satisfactory breakfast.
Breakfast was more or less what guests expected. The free price tag was appreciated, and most guests were able to fuel up for the day with a continental selection that was quickly replenished when needed.
Negative Reviews
negative:
A few flaws.
Some guests would have rather booked a room elsewhere due to accommodation not being up to standards. A few of the common grievances were bathrooms with a strange smell, dark and sometimes run down corridors, and an often smoky entrance that bothered the non-smoking crowd. Guests often stated that rooms weren't as advertised, and seemed smaller than in pictures.
negative:
Fussy air-conditioning.
It seems that air-conditioning is temperamental at Bolzano. Several guests reported unfortunate experiences with weak or non-existent air-conditioning. Perhaps most concerning, was that when windows were opened to cool down the room, bad smells and street noise permeated accommodation.
negative:
Hit and miss staff.
While many guests had positive interactions with hotel staff, others reported rude behaviour and brusque demeanours. Some felt that staff had room for improvement when it came to great customer service.
