Conveniently situated just off Highway-58, Baymont by Wyndham Tehachapi offers a warm and vibrant atmosphere, terrific leisure amenities and lovely valley views. Like the rest of the hotel, the rooms feature warm and vibrant colors. They are especially well-equipped. Each features flat screen TV with cable channels, fast Wi-Fi, microwave, minibar, coffee maker, work desk, telephone, iron, hairdryer and alarm clock. The courtyard pool is undoubtedly the star amenity, with the whole area the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the California sunshine. Business travelers may be more impressed with the business center, while all will enjoy the convenience of being able to stock up on their favorite snacks from the on-site mini-mart. A simple continental breakfast consisting of bread cereals, yogurt, bagels pastries, muffins, eggs, fresh fruit and waffles is served every morning. Central Tehachapi is just two miles from the hotel, while Bakersfield is 43 miles away.
Guests didn’t come right out and say that they believed that the hotel was good value, perhaps because they had usually identified several issues, but they did say that the room rates were quite low. With that in mind, it seems that the hotel may suit those who are simply looking for a place to crash before moving on.
This was perhaps what guests most appreciated about the hotel. It is right off Highway-58, so incredibly easy to find initially. Guests also appreciated being able to quickly access the highway when heading out to places nearby.
A large number of guests commented that they found their room to be especially spacious, even those in the standard rooms. They certainly didn’t feel as if the hotel was trying to cram its guest in, and felt they had more than enough space for the number of guests booked in.
Several guests were unhappy with the standard of upkeep at the hotel. The exterior came n for the most criticism, with guests saying they saw heaps of discarded cigarette buts and other indications that the staff were not properly taking care of the property.
It was mentioned that the breakfast area was a bit small. As a result, during popular breakfast times it was overcrowded, and when the hotel was full it was very difficult to find a seat to enjoy one’s breakfast.
A curiously specific complaint, mentioned a couple of times, was that the coffee served at breakfast was so weak that it looked like tea. Guests felt that it neither tasted good, nor gave them the kickstart they needed first thing in the morning.
