Positive Reviews
positive:
Convenient location.
While the Royal Versailles is removed from the city center, guests appreciated the subway stop right outside the hotel. The metro at the Radisson stop will deliver you downtown in 20 minutes. Locally, a fast food restaurant and sports bar are across the street, as well as a popular mall. The hotel is three miles from Olympic Stadium.
positive:
Efficient staff.
While some guests experienced problems with impolite staff, most found them to be professional and efficient. Check-in wa a breeze and requests were met with prompt action.
positive:
Nice outdoor pool.
If you are inclined to go for a swim on a hot summer's day, you will find a well-taken care of pool, complete with a lifeguard. Some hotel rooms even have a back door that takes you directly to the pool. While a few guests wanting an evening swim were disappointed that the pool closes by 8 p.m., most were happy to have the option for a refreshing dip.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Has seen better days.
The attractive lobby may not paint an accurate picture of what to expect in the rest of the hotel. While unsubstantiated reports exist that renovations have been undertaken, many guests were unhappy with the tired look of rooms and hallways. Dark corridors, peeling wallpaper, dirty carpet and questionable furniture were on the list of items guests would rather do without.
negative:
Substandard mattresses.
Creaky springs and not much support could be found with many mattresses at the Hotel Versailles. Guests felt an update was overdue.
negative:
Breakfast might not be worth the cost.
Several complaints arose amongst guests about an unsatisfactory breakfast experience. Slow servers, poor food quality and missing items ordered were at the top of the list of reasons why guests wouldn't return.
