Hotel Astro Apartments (Reykjavík, Iceland)

Instead of a hotel room, Grettisborg offers you a unit with a kitchen, living room, bedroom. Guests liked having all that space instead of being confined to a single hotel room.

The Grettisborg is located right next to the main shopping street called Laugavegur, making shops, restaurants and other sites within walking distance. It's also near the Hallgrímskirkja church and takes about 10 minutes to get to heart of downtown.

Visitors, especially the ones who had spent a lot of time outdoors, appreciated having access to a washer and dryer. The kitchen also has modern appliances like an oven, microwave, dishwasher and electric kettle.

Several guests reported that when they arrived to the hotel, they couldn't figure out how to check in or get into the apartment. There is nobody waiting to receive guests at the reception, instead you're suppose to take the key out yourself and return it during checkout. Guests said there was no human contact with the host at all.

Several visitors reported getting woken up early in the morning by construction sounds. Other guests said they were irritated by the noise from their apartment neighbors who were running around and banging items. They said the sound proofing needed work.

Although it's advertised as being able to fit four people, the units may only be comfortable for two. Several guests said the sofa bed was insufficient space to fit two people.
