The staff at this guest house go beyond the call of duty in extending such a warm and friendly welcome to each of the guests. You’ll feel like one of the locals from the moment you set foot in the front door.
This pub is lovely and charming but, unfortunately, the rooms while full of character are in bad need of a refurb. The mattresses aren’t the best, and the décor is like something from the seventies. A bit of care and this place would be a great.
The rooms are a tad on the noisy side thanks to the liveliness of the pub downstairs. There is also the traffic noise that isn’t quite so bad but with old windows that don’t keep out the sound, you might not get the best night’s sleep here.
It’s quite strange that the staff are extremely welcoming and will assist you in any way they can but the locals that frequent the bar seem to begrudge the presence of visitors. Not the greatest of atmospheres.
