Kvoldstjarnan Gistiheimili is located in Stokkseyri. Three bedroom flat with a big balcony and splendid view of the village and the surrounding mountains in the distance. In clear weather, three majestic glaciers and the famous Hekla volcano are visible on the eastern horizon. Up to 6 people can stay the night (an extra folding bed is available for the 6th person). The flat is facilitated with a well equipped kitchen and dining room, a nice sitting room and a bathroom, and decorated with artwork by prominent Icelandic artists. The flat is bright and beautiful and a nice and comfortable accommodation. Its walls are covered by inspirational art pieces by contemporary Icelandic artists of international stature such as Hulda Hákon, Gunnar Örn, Elías B. Halldórsson and more. Gunnar Örn was the representative of Iceland at the Venice Biennale in 1988 and his works are owned by museums like Moderna Museet in Stockholm, the Seibu Museum in Tokyo and the world famous Guggenheim Museum in New York. The works of Hulda Hákon have also travelled far and wide and are found in various places and institutes. For example, a grand wooden bas-relief by her representing the National Theatre of Iceland decorates the inner corridor to the theatre.
