positive:
Warm atmosphere at the pub
The whole family is welcome at the pub, even the dog. Some families who are travelling with their pets are pleasantly surprised to be invited to have a drink and a meal the moment they arrive, causing many guests to book their next vacation before they leave.
positive:
Breakfast is delightful
When the Garth Hotel says it serves a full Scottish breakfast, it really means very full. Guests were astounded by the array of freshly cooked dishes, most of them cooked by using local produce, and you can eat as much as you like.
positive:
Piping hot bath
For those guests who like to soak in the tub for a long while, you will be delighted about having a tub all to yourself. After a long flight, or a day on the road, many travellers enjoy a good old fashioned bath.

Wi-Fi comes and goes
Although the Wi-Fi is free of charge, it is very unstable according to many visitors. You might be able to work for five minutes at a time, and then you get disconnected again. If you rely on a good connection try to bring your own Wi-Fi cable.
negative:
Rooms are looking tired
There have been a few comments from visitors who feel that the rooms could do with some attention. Curtains are dusty and furnishings and fittings are looking a bit dated. Guests have noticed mould on the bathroom taps, and even took the liberty of cleaning them up a bit.

Great in winter
If you can imagine sitting around a snug log fireplace in the middle of winter, then try to request a room at the rear of Garth Hotel. Guests love the cosy winter vibe, and look forward to skiing during the day.
