positive:
Charming, characterful and comfortable.
Reviews describe the hotel as charming and full of traditional character. Original features seem to have been restored and maintained well, and guests seem to appreciate that rooms have been well renovated given the historic nature of the building.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Spotty Wi-Fi signal.
A few reviews comment that Wi-Fi signal is poor in all areas of the hotel except the main bar area, and that phone reception is also poor in the building. However, guests recognise that the town is fairly rural, and that poor signal is to be expected.
negative:
Furniture could do with being updated.
Whilst guests seem to appreciate the period furniture, some suggest that it is looking tired and worn and is in need of renovation or replacement. Return guests comment that the interior decor is becoming increasingly scruffy.
negative:
Poor sound insulation throughout.
A few guests comment that sound insulation is poor, and that noise from the bar travels up to the rooms. There is also, reportedly, a busy street onto which some of the rooms face.
