About Gidea Park Hotel
Situated less than a mile from Romford’s vibrant town centre, Gidea Park Hotel offers friendly family-run accommodation in a delightfully rambling Victorian-style property.
The rooms have been recently refurbished, and feature private bathrooms, flat screen TV’s, hairdryers, telephones and dressing tables.
Gidea Park Hotel offers free on-site parking at the back, and also free Wi-Fi throughout the property.
A full English breakfast is available every morning, and special diets can be accommodated if requested. The on-site Rocco’s Food and Bar serves up high quality Italian cuisine and drinks to order.
There are frequent fast trains to London’s Liverpool Street Station leaving Romford Station, but Romford itself is famous for its downtown shopping centres, and just a little infamous for its nightlife. So there is no need to travel too far for a good time.
Positive Reviews
positive:
Excellent staff all round
From the assistant bottle washer to the hotel manager, guests can't say enough good things about the staff at Gidea Park. They are described as extremely friendly and customer focused, doing not only their duty, but sometimes going far beyond, to meet guest's expectations.
positive:
Good value
Even the guests who had some issue with the hotel often agreed that they received good value. Considering what else was available in the area, most where happy with their room-rate and the value received in return.
positive:
Excellent location
Irrespective of whether their main destination was London, or Romford itself, guests really seemed to like the location of Gidea Park. Romford town centre wasn't too far to walk to, and from there they could get a fast train to the City.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Very small single rooms
Several guests who stayed in one of the single rooms described them as incredibly small, with barely enough space to turn around in. On more than one occasion the guest regretted not simply getting a double room and using it for single occupancy.
negative:
Some rooms only have baths
It was said by regular guests that a couple of the rooms have no showers at all, only baths. This may perhaps suit some people, but most would have liked the option to take a quick shower.
negative:
Some rooms not well sound insulated
While rare, there were some complaints that guests could hear people speaking and moving around in adjacent rooms. It is quite possible that this is not a general problem, but confined to certain rooms.
