Positive Reviews
positive:
Great views from the upper rooms
While there are not good views from the lower floors, guests higher up loved the views of Prague over the rooftops, considering them very romantic. If a view is important, it's best to request a room or suite on the top two floors.
positive:
Very convenient location
Guests found the location ideal for their needs. While very central, the Royal Esprit is in a bit of a side street, and guests found that they had the convenience of being within walking distance of all the attractions, without the hassle of being in a prominent position.
positive:
Great Czech restaurant right across the street
Several guests mention that hotel staff strongly recommend the Nostalgie Restaurant right across the street from the Royal Esprit. It serves traditional Czech cuisine and guests are unanimously happy and grateful for the recommendation.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Reception a bit unfriendly at times
Several guests mention being unimpressed with the attitude and demeanour of the reception staff. It didn't make for a good first impression, and didn't seem to improve through the course of a stay.
negative:
No air conditioning in some rooms
Many of the smaller rooms do not have air conditioning, only fans. Guests in these rooms found them to be unbearably hot in summer, but were reluctant to leave the windows open as this let in all the street noise. There are rooms with air conditioning, so it's best to check with the hotel beforehand.
negative:
Wi-Fi logs out repeatedly
Many guests comment that the Wi-Fi system is designed to log users out after a short period of inactivity, requiring a lengthy process of logging back in. Considering the way modern applications use connectivity they found this to be unreasonable, almost making the Wi-Fi unusable for their purposes.
