Positive Reviews
positive:
Surrounded by a lively area
Hotel Le Meridien Chiang Mai is very centrally and conveniently located, a mere fifteen minute drive from the international airport and steps away from several food carts and restaurants, traditional massage parlours and local artisan shops for souvenirs.
positive:
Fantastic mountain views and tours
Guests can enjoy extensive views of the majestic Doi Suthep Mountain from several rooms and some of the lounges as well as the rooftop infinity pool. Many have found it well worth their while to request a mountain-facing room for this reason. Furthermore, the hotel is only about fifteen miles from the mountain itself and the concierge can help to arrange tours of the villages and temples on and around it.
positive:
Overall great facilities and service
Generally the hotel provides a luxury experience from the light and airy rooms to the well-kept spa, gym and swimming pool, not to mention the extra perks for Club Members.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Extra charges for Wi-Fi use
There is wireless internet connectivity in all rooms and suites as well as some public areas however access to this is free for a limited amount of time per day and extra charges apply thereafter.
negative:
Some possible noise due to events/parties
Given the rooftop swimming pool's charming atmosphere and mountain views, it is often the venue of choice for a number of parties which can get loud for those in a room on the same floor (fourth floor) or in a room with windows facing it. To avoid this, try and request a higher room or one facing elsewhere.
negative:
Little variation in buffet choices
The buffet restaurant is of very good quality, however after a few days it can get a bit repetitive and there are not always many vegan or vegetarian options. If you would prefer to have something different after a while, only a few minutes/ walk away are the night market carts and a number of restaurants.
