positive:
Excellent food.
The chef at this hotel really knows his stuff, and each meal is carefully prepared to perfection. You won’t feel the need to dine out during your stay at this hotel and a relaxing meal in the restaurant is the perfect way to end a day of local sightseeing
positive:
Friendliest staff in the UK.
The staff extend the rural welcome that the Cotswolds is well known for and make you feel right at home. In fact, don’t be surprised if you’re asked about your day by more than one member of the staff. They are genuinely friendly and a pleasure to talk to
positive:
Location is ideal.
The hotel is just ten minutes from Malmesbury Abbey Gardens, which is very handy. There are also many other local sights that you can reach within a short drive making this the ideal base for visiting the Cotswolds.
Negative Reviews
negative:
A little dated.
The hotel is lovely and very quaint, but it could do with a bit of a facelift especially in the rooms. It’s not that they’re terrible, just that they are a little on the old side. A bit of redecorating would give the whole place a lift.
negative:
Dining a bit expensive.
With this hotel being in a remote area, you’ll find that dining options are limited and as such, the restaurant can charge what it likes. The food is excellent but if you are looking for cheaper options, you’ll have to drive quite a distance.
negative:
Pray you don’t have noisy neighbours.
You can hear almost every move the guests in the next room make, so cross your fingers that they are not night owls that watch TV all night. A little more could be done to soundproof the rooms.
