Positive Reviews
positive:
Quaint and charming
The hotel feels more like a bed and breakfast than an impersonal hotel. The food in the restaurant is good and popular in the town, with low prices and big portions. The staff throughout is very friendly and the whole place feels cosy.
positive:
An amazing location
The property is right in the middle of downtown Jasper and guests can walk in any direction to find food, pubs, and entertainment. You can get picked up for tours right out front and walking around town will give you many ideas for local tours.
positive:
An affordable rate
Considering the location near a popular ski area, the rates here are affordable and many of those rates include rooms with stunning mountain views. The Wi-Fi is free and there's also a coffee maker in the room. If you're looking to just hit the slopes and fall into bed afterward, this is a good choice.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Old or old-fashioned?
While much of the decor is in keeping with the style of the historic nature of the hotel, other parts feel more out of date and unkempt. The carpets are thin and stained and the bedding and linens are thin.
negative:
Very small rooms
The rooms are very small and seem to all be the same size. So, if you have a room with twin beds, you might be able to walk around. If you have a king-sized bed, you'll be lucky to scoot around the room. The showers are also really small.
negative:
Some bothers
While the Wi-Fi is free, it's a limited service and not secure. You'll also have to get new passcodes for each day of your stay. Other annoyances are the noise from the pub downstairs and lack of a lift to help with heavy ski equipment and luggage.
